Kathryn Stebner
Kathryn Stebner filed her first elder abuse case in 1987. She is the co-author of two Continuing Education of the Bar chapters, “Practice and Procedure in Actions Against Residential Care Facilities”, “Litigating Financial Abuse Actions Against Institutions, Agents and Fiduciaries”, has lectured 100’s of times and is intricately involved in elder abuse legislation in Sacramento. Kathryn has vast experience in individual physical and financial alder abuse cases, class actions against long term health care providers and medical malpractice cases on the behalf of the plaintiffs. Kathryn not only has a reputation as a fierce advocate but also as a practical attorney who comes up with cost effective solutions to case resolution. Kathryn has been involved in hundreds of mediations and prides herself on being the person who works directly with defense to get the case resolved.
Rick Canvel
Rick Canvel defended his first elder abuse case in 1994 and has adeptly resolved hundreds of complex elder abuse and medical malpractice cases.
In addition to settling individual elder abuse and medical malpractice claims, Rick has defended and resolved regulatory & criminal actions brought by State and Federal Government Agencies, while also handling complex class action claims. Rick has also settled numerous labor and employment claims during his six-year tenure as in-house counsel for a large, long-term care provider.
Rick has a track record of tenacity and pragmatism while working with counsel and all parties to settle cases equitably and cost-efficiently.
